Light a Candle
Christine (Chris) Dollente Tucker, 77 went to be with her Lord Jesus and passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday April 1, 2020. Chris was born in Holtville, CA to Victor Sr. & Connie Dollente on April 24, 1942. She graduated from Holtville High School, Class of 1960. She continued her education at Cal-Western University in San Diego, CA. She then married and became a homemaker raising four children in Vallejo & Napa Valley, CA until 1977 when the family moved to Arlington, TX. Chris was warm & welcoming to all and soon included a bonus daughter into the family. She loved her family dearly, loved to decorate her home for the holidays and cheered for the Cowboys! Chris later returned to college and finished her Early Childhood Education Degree at Texas Women’s University. In 1981, she began her 23-year teaching career with AISD primarily working at Sherrod Elementary as a fabulous first grade teacher! Chris also had a love for music and at age 8, began to play the piano. At age 13, she became the pianist/organist for the Holtville Methodist Church and would continue to play & serve in music ministry throughout her life. Later, as an accomplished pianist, she played for over 25 years at Woods Chapel Baptist Church in Arlington. It was at this church that she met Joe Dale Tucker and they were married in 2000 and enjoyed twelve years together, residing in Dalworthington Gardens with their dog Lucy. Her pride and joy were her 10 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter! Chris is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe Tucker and her son Les Gilbert Jr. Survivors include her brother Victor Dollente, Jr. (and wife Pat) from Holtville, CA Daughters: Christy (and Russ) Blum, Tanya (and Michael) Gibbs, Gaylynn (and Thomas) Kutsch,Lorraine (and Brian) Vassberg. Grandchildren: Bethany (and Paul) Bradley, Nathan (and Marcie) Blum, Sydney Kutsch, Makenzie Kutsch, Grayson Kutsch, Audrey Gibbs, Autumn Gibbs, Austin Gibbs, Trinity Vassberg and Tristan Vassberg.
